Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup butter, melted
  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • 1 large egg, beaten
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 cup flour
  • Pinch of salt
  • 5 teaspoons sugar
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon

Instructions

  1. Set your oven to 350°F and prepare an 8×8-inch baking dish by lining it with parchment paper.
  2. In a medium bowl, mix together the melted butter and brown sugar until combined.
  3. Add the beaten egg and vanilla extract, stirring until incorporated.
  4. Mix in the flour and salt, stirring just until everything comes together.
  5. Spread the batter evenly into the prepared pan. In a small bowl, combine the sugar and cinnamon, then sprinkle this mixture evenly over the top.
  6. Bake for 22 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out mostly clean.
  7. Allow the bars to cool before slicing into portions.
