Brownies

  • 1 cup salted butter, melted

Chocolate Frosting

  • 1/4 cup salted butter, softened
  • 1/4 cup 2% milk
  • 1/4 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 3 cups powdered sugar

Instructions

Brownies

  1. Set your oven to 350°F (175°C). Prepare a 9×13-inch baking pan by lining it with parchment paper and lightly coating it with non-stick spray.
  2. In a stand mixer fitted with the paddle attachment, combine the melted butter and cocoa powder. Mix until the texture is smooth and uniform.
  3. Add the flour and sugar, mixing to combine. Then add the eggs and vanilla extract. Mix just until everything comes together—avoid overmixing. (The batter will be thick.)
  4. Transfer the batter into the prepared pan and spread it evenly. Bake for 25 to 30 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
  5. Remove from the oven and allow the brownies to rest for 15 minutes. The brownies should still be warm when the frosting is added.

Chocolate Frosting

  1. Combine all frosting ingredients and beat until smooth and creamy.
  2. Spread the frosting evenly over the warm brownies.
  3. Allow the brownies to cool completely before slicing and serving.
